Senator John Curis has been invited, but the town hall will take place whether or not he participates

Salt Lake City, Utah – April 16, 2025 –Indivisible Utah Alliance Coalition (https://www.utahalliancecoalition.org/ )Take Action Salt Lake (www.takeactionsaltlake.org) and Utah Parents for Teachers UtahParentsforteachers.com will host a town hall on April 24, 2025. Senator John Curis has been invited, but the town hall meeting will take place whether or not he chooses to take part. The town hall is taking place during a Congressional recess, when legislators are back home. The subject will be education. The town hall will feature expert speakers and attendees will also be encouraged to speak about the impact education has on their lives or the lives of loved ones.

Speakers include: Senator Nate Boulin, Senator Kathleen Riebe and teacher and education activist John Arthur. The meeting will be held on April 24, 2025 in the auditorium at the downtown City Library, 210 E. 400 S., Salt Lake City, UT at 7:00 p.m. People can register for the event at NEED LINK.

“Senator Curtis made a campaign promise to hold frequent town halls,” said Frank Brannan, Director, Indivisible Utah Alliance Coalition. “Listening to his constituents in a town hall can give him vital perspective on the issues that affect everyday Americans. It can foster strong relationships and more informed decisions.”

Education is a vital part of a strong country and economy. Proposed cuts to the Department of Education and slashing funding will endanger this country’s future. It’s important for Senator Curtis to listen to what the expert speakers and the attendees have to say on the subject. Senator Curtis has held a couple of highly curated events, held during workdays, which has limited who could attend. It’s important to hold open town halls at times when constituents can attend and make their concerns known. That’s the purpose of this town hall.

WHAT: Town hall focusing on education. Senator John Curtis has been invited to participate. The event will occur whether or not Senator Curtis decides to attend.

WHERE: Auditorium at the downtown Salt Lake City library, 210 E. 400 S., Salt Lake City, UT. Parking available in the underground garage at Library Square. Parking is free for the first two hours

When: April 24, 2025, 7:00 p.m.
